The Norwalk volleyball team finished conference play with a five-set win at Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday night, locking up third place in the Little Hawkeye standings. The Class 4A 11th-ranked Warriors won the first set 25-22, then lost sets two and three by scores of 24-26, 21-25. They rebounded to take set four 25-19 and won the fifth set 15-10.

Norwalk coach John Fulton tells KNIA Sports that DC-G did a great job in serve receive all night, keeping them in system often. Fulton says that the Warriors put up a much better block in the fourth and fifth sets and were able to put the ball away at the net.

Unofficially, Norwalk setter Hadley Michael totaled 52 assists and 17 digs on the night and Reese Heim led the team with 21 digs. Kill leaders were Elle Hatlevig with 26 and Jillian Hammond 11.

The Warriors improved to 22-13 overall and finished 4-2 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Mustangs are now 18-18 overall and 2-3 in the LHC. Norwalk will now have 10 days off before rounding out the regular season at the Winterset Tournament on Saturday, October 19.
