The Pella Christian cross country teams open their postseason action Monday running at the Little Hawkeye Conference meet in Newton, while the Eagles volleyball team wraps up conference action at Dallas Center-Grimes.

In Newton, the Pella Christian cross country teams will compete against the loaded conference field that features four other ranked boys squads and three ranked girls teams out of the seven schools. In addition to the Class 2A #14 Eagles, the boys race includes two ranked 4A schools in #9 Norwalk and #12 Indianola, and two 3A teams in #2 Pella and #20 Oskaloosa. The Class 2A #10 Pella Christian girls will run against 4A #8 Dallas Center-Grimes, 4A #14 Indianola and 3A #1 Pella.

Meanwhile in Grimes, the Class 2A #8 Eagles volleyball team kicks off their final week of the regular season against Dallas Center-Grimes. Pella Christian is coming off eight days away from competition, having last played in Grand View Christian’s Faith Quad on October 5th. The Eagles went 2-1 in that tournament, sweeping the hosts and Waterloo Christian and falling to Class 1A #1 Ankeny Christian Academy. The Mustangs competed twice last week, going 1-1 in two home matches. Dallas Center-Grimes first fell in a five-set thriller to Class 4A #11 Norwalk last Tuesday, before defeating Ames in four sets on Thursday.

The Little Hawkeye Conference cross country meet for Pella Christian at Maytag Park in Newton is scheduled to start at 4:30 pm Monday, while the Eagles volleyball team’s match at Dallas Center-Grimes is slated to begin at 7:15 pm.
