Republican Doug Cupples of Newton is running for another term as County Supervisor. Cupples says he is seeking reelection to the Board of Supervisors because he cares about the people of Jasper County.
“Probably to a fault, and it gets me into trouble. But I do listen to people’s complaints and stories if they have them. I try to call everyone back, occasionally one slips through the cracks. But I really do work hard to take care of people and hear them out, and give them a positive solution. But that isn’t always possible.”
Cupples believes the County Supervisors have really improved the gravel roads throughout the County and continues to look at ways to maintain them better. He’s proud that the new County Administration building will be paid for in two years, and praises the Advanced Life Support services now available across the County through the Sheriff’s Department.
