Linsey Spoelstra was announced as the new Public Health Director at the Marion County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday.

Spoelstra, who is currently employed by Marion County Public Health, will take over for current director Kim Dorn, who is retiring. Also at the meeting, there was discussion regarding an extension agreement between the City of Pella, Marion County, and Pella School District regarding the Prairie Ridge West Urban Renewal Area with Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini. This is for further expansion of the Prairie Ridge development, but no action was taken.

The board then approved Marion County Compensation Board appointments, a site plan for an expansion to Slideways which would include bowling, pickleball courts, and a sports bar, and a federal aid funding agreement for a county bridge replacement project.
