Leighton State Bank in Knoxville will reopen at 213 E Main St.

Following an assessment by a structural engineer at 207 E. Main Street in Knoxville, it has been
determined that Leighton State Bank will not reopen at that location. The branch closed on October 15th due to instability in the rear wall of the building, which rendered the location unsafe for occupancy. The Knoxville branch of Leighton State Bank will reopen at 213 E. Main, Suite 103, next door to Coffee Connection and two doors east of the previous location until completion of the new 3,750 square foot facility, which will open in the summer of 2025 at 209 South Lincoln.

“Thank you to our customers for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation. We anticipate being able to provide limited services at 213 E. Main in the coming days and will be progressing to full service as soon as possible, pending the establishment of data connections and other necessary preparation work,” said Steve Fopma, LSB President and CEO. “Thank you also to City of Knoxville Fire Chief, Cal Wyman, Mark and Lori Raymie, and building owner Mike Allen for your assistance and cooperation in helping to achieve a relocation plan as quickly as possible.”

Along with implementing the bank’s disaster recovery plan, Leighton State Bank has been working with the Iowa Division of Banking, as well as the FDIC, to reopen at the new address. An exact reopening date will be available on their website, leightonbank.com, and will also be communicated to KNIA/KRLS.

Customers are encouraged to call the Monroe branch at 641-269-2016, or the Pella branch at 641-628-1566, with any questions or concerns.
