Jasper County veterans received over $3.6 million of veteran benefits during July, August, and September. That was the First Quarter number Jasper County Veterans Affairs Administrator Alyssa Wilson provided to the Jasper County Board of Supervisors yesterday.

“The month of September brought in $1,242,466 in benefits to veterans in Jasper County. That brings our total for the First Quarter of this fiscal year to $3,660,630.”

Wilson also noted the Veterans Administration’s 2023 Geographic Distribution of VA Expenses shows $13,156,000 of compensation and pension going to 2,182 veterans across the county. That benefits number is up from the $11,652,000 dispersed to 2,248 Jasper County veterans in 2022.
