The Knoxville Volleyball Squad defeated a pesky Oskaloosa on Tuesday in the opening round of the class 4A regional in three sets 25-14, 25-20 and 26-24. The Panthers closed the 3rd set on a 15-5 run after trailing 19-10 at one point. Senior Hannah Dunkin had a full match getting eight kills and 19 digs. Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports the 3rd set was correcting a few things, and hopes the energy continues Thursday night.
Dunkin: “We also bettered the ball and we had a lot of errors that we corrected. We had less errors than they had. If we take this same energy up to Carlisle then we will be a tough team to beat.”
Peyton Horn had ten kills while Rylyn McCarty had nine and Jordyn Counts completed the balanced effort at the net with eight kills. Addy Dunkin dealt out 33 assists and had 19 digs, Abbie Keitges had 20 digs and Bridgette Liston was 10/11 serving off the bench with an ace. Knoxville is now 23-16 this season and will head to Carlisle for the class 4A regional semi-final on Thursday.
