Jasper County residents have another opportunity this evening to get information about the November 5th countywide Bond Referendum. An in-person informational meeting is being held in Kellogg at the Amboy Grange Building at 220 High Street. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. If approved, the proposed $6,400,000 bond referendum would pay for a new Secondary Roads maintenance building and shop and several Jasper County Conservation Department projects. The projects include furnishing the classroom at the soon to be built Environmental Education Center, and the new maintenance shops at Mariposa Recreational Area and Jacob Krumm Nature Preserve. The revenue would also convert the former Jasper County Animal rescue league building southeast of the County Sheriff’s Office and Jail into a Sheriff’s Office training facility.
