Four new Sheriff’s Deputies will be joining the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department. The Jasper County Board of Supervisors approved Sheriff John Halferty’s recommendation to hire Brandon Blom, Troy Daehler, Wyatt Dillon, and Randall Rice. 

“We were really excited. Finally we had a really good list of candidates. We are actually looking at one more. These are all filling open positions. The two with experience who are certified will have a higher wage. They are really familiar with what we do already and we expect a fast transition. The other two are scheduled to go to the Law Enforcement Academy right after the first of the year.”  

According to Sheriff Halferty, Blom and Rice will make $35.49 an hour and will join the Sheriff’s Department the first full week of November. Daehler and Dillon will be paid $29.13 an hour. Dillion starts work this coming Monday, October 28th, while Daehler begins December 2nd.
