The PCM volleyball team will travel to Mount Vernon tonight to try and knock off the top ranked Mustangs in the Class 3A Region 1 semifinals.

It will be a battle of the Mustangs as the PCM Mustangs will look to keep their season alive against a #1 ranked 40-4 Mount Vernon squad. PCM is coming off a dominating 3-0 sweep of Clarke at home on Tuesday night in the regional quarterfinals. PCM will look to keep senior Chloe Meester in check as she has 507 kills on the season which ranks third in the entire state. Senior Sydney Huber for Mount Vernon leads the state in assists with 1,122. PCM Coach Sarah DeVries says they want to go into this match and show they belong on the court with a team like Mount Vernon after the hard work they’ve put in this season.

“Just going in with confidence, knowing that we’re capable of doing good things, and just putting up the best defense we can against a team like that. They’re going to hit lights out, we know that, but it’s just going in there strong knowing that we’ve worked hard this season and we are capable of being on the court with them.”

Tonight’s match starts at 7:00 pm.
