The Simpson College women’s soccer team has entered the Top 25 in the latest Division III NCAA Power Index (NPI), which includes games through Oct. 27.
This is Simpson’s first time ranked inside the top 25 of the new NPI system, which will be used to select the at-large teams for the NCAA Tournament. The Storm jumped into the top 25 following wins over Dubuque (3-1) and Wartburg (1-0) last week.
Among teams in Region IX, the Storm (12-1-3, 6-1 A-R-C) have the third-highest NPI behind No. 3 Loras and No. 24 Carleton. Simpson fell 1-0 to Loras and tied Carleton 3-3.
The Storm have a bye for the first round of the A-R-C Tournament
