The #5 Indianola volleyball team is headed to the class 5A state tournament beginning Monday, and one of the ways they will be able to keep up with the much bigger schools at the event will be their team balance. The Indians feature multiple athletes with various skill sets and the ability to play on both the front and back lines, and head coach Kent Halstead tells KNIA Sports he trusts the athletes out on the court to be able to make adjustments on the fly and feed the ball to whomever is having a great night.
“We give them the liberty of making adjustments on the court, why wouldn’t you? They are out there playing. So really I credit our players big time, and our assistant coaches. I just tell them to serve tough.”
The Indians will match up with #4 Dowling Catholic at the Xtream Arena in Coralville on Monday at 2pm. Hear the match live on 94.3 KNIA.
