It is race day for Knoxville’s Isaac Rankin. The Panther runner is set to participate in his 3rd consecutive class 3A State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge. Rankin placed 2nd at the State Qualifier over the week ago at the Pella Sports Park and has had a solid fall winning five times, four of those came in the first four meets of the season. Rankin has a goal of getting in the top 15, which would net him his first career all-state designation. Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports there will not be much of a pep talk with Rankin it will be the same thing he has said to him all season.

Splavec: “Is the same words I’ve had for him the last couple of races and that is “Do you and be you.” He knows what he has to do, he’s a confident kid and what he’s been doing all season has been working pretty well.”
