A Kellogg man accused of kicking in the door of a Newton home and assaulting a woman faces two felony charges. Newton police say thirty-nine-year old Rodney Matthew Savage grabbed the alleged victim by the neck and arm before she was able to get away and call 911. Officers listed the injuries as a cut on her arm and marks on her neck. Savage is charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, a Class C felony, and 3rd or Subsequent Offense Domestic Abuse Assault, a Class D felony. The Kellogg man has a preliminary hearing set for November 12th. Newton Police allege the assault occurred in the 400-block of East 21st Street South shortly after 8 p.m. this past Tuesday, October 29th.
