The Indianola City Council met in a joint work session with the Indianola Wellness Campus Board of Trustees Monday evening, discussing how to operate the campus more efficiently and without being a strain on city taxpayers and resources. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News multiple maintenance costs have slowed down the process of making the campus sustainable.
“All of the repairs can be one-time hits that can be challenging for a budget, and yet they are all coming at once because the building is now 15 years old. So we are trying to figure out the best way to make the improvements, smooth out the costs, and make it more affordable for us without some of these spikes, so we can create a revenue plan to help us meet our day-to-day costs.”
