Due to Veteran’s Day, Newton City offices, the Newton Public Library, and the Newton Sanitary Landfill will be closed on Monday. In addition, Dodd’s Trash Hauling is changing the collection schedule. All City of Newton trash and recycling collected by Dodd’s will shift back one day. This means all collection days will be delayed by one day for the week of November 11. Unrelated to Veteran’s Day, there will be a temporary street closure in Prairie City on Monday, November 11 from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. East Jefferson Street will be closed from North State Street to North Sherman Street. The closure is for the staging of equipment to pour concrete for the EMS/Fire Building project.
