The Knoxville School Board held an election of officers, and approved appointments at their annual organizational meeting Monday night.

Monica Sullivan was elected as new School Board President with Dylan Mick elected as new Vice President both in split votes. Sullivan will replace Dave Smith as President and Mick will replace Sullivan in the Vice President role. Business Manager Craig Mobley said the biggest change will just be on how the President runs the meetings now.

“Really the meetings are ran pretty much by the Board President so that’s probably the biggest change, just how they organize and run the meetings. That will be a little bit of a change going from Dave Smith to Monica Sullivan just personally how they run the meetings. That will really be the biggest change. It’s still the same five people on the board so I don’t think any other monumental changes or anything like that.”

The board then approved appointments of Mobley to remain as Board Secretary, Ahlers and Cooney, P.C. as the district’s legal council, and the board approved their committee assignments.
