A Newton man accused of threatening to shoot everyone at a Newton grocery store has been charged with a felony. Newton Police say fifty year old Severn Paul Rodenberg made the threat this past Sunday night, while talking to a store manager on the phone. Court documents say Rodenberg was upset that a family member had just been banned from the store. The Newton man is also accused of running from officers when they went to his home to arrest him. Rodenberg is charged with Threat of Terrorism, a Class D felony, two counts of 1st Degree Harassment, and Interference with Official Acts. He’s free on a $9,000 bond with a court appearance set for November 26, 2024.
