Newton High School Drama students have their second and final performance of the play “The Little Town of Christmas” tonight. The play opened last night at the High School auditorium. Newton High School and Middle School Drama Coach Melinda Robertson says the students began working on the play, written by Pat Cook, back in September. is a two act, twelve scene show with an intermission.
“The show is a comedy. It encompasses many of the Christmas traditions that go on. Like “The Night Before Christmas”, the twist is they think Santa is a UFO. We have Scrooge in “The Christmas Carol” with a totally wacky twist to it.”
Robertson says forty-two Newton High School students are involved in the two act, twelve scene play. Twenty-eight of those students perform on stage. Admission to tonight’s 7 p.m. play is $6.00, with refreshments at intermission.
