Five Newton Colfax-Mingo Pella Aquagirls competed in individual events at the 2024 Iowa Girls State Swimming and Diving Meet at the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA Friday. Junior Harper Barton turned in the best performance placing 10th in the 50-yard Freestyle. Her time of 24.58 puts her in today’s Consolation heat. She also grabbed the last consolation spot in the 100-yard Breaststroke, placing 16th in 1:07.83. 

Senior Peyton Ray was 20th in the 100-yard Freestyle. Her time was 54.90. Senior Addision Van Maanen placed 21st in the 200-yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:16.14. Her 100-yard Breastroke time of 1:09.19 was 24th fastest. Senior Alex Riney placed 23rd in the 50-yard Freestyle in 25.41. Junior Tori White’s 100-yard Backstroke time of 1:02.56 placed her 24th. 

Also competing today will be the Newton Colfax-Mingo Pella 200-yard Medley Relay, and the 200-yard and 400-yard Freestyle Relay teams. The 200-yard Medley Relay consists of Tori White, Addison Van Maanen, Izzy Lane, and Paige Benson. The 200-yard Freestyle Relay is made up of Peyton Ray, Tori White, Alex Riney, and Harper Barton. The 400-yard Freestyle Relay includes Peyton Ray, Alex Riney, Addison Van Maanen, and Harper Barton.
