The Knoxville City Council heard an update on the city’s comprehensive plan public participation process on Monday.
The council heard a presentation from City Economic Development Director Glenn Lyons and MSA Planning regarding results of the open house that was held in September and the comprehensive plan survey. In the survey, the five main words people used to describe Knoxville were friendly, welcoming, growing, progressive and divided. Also presented was a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis from the open house that was held. The full presentation with results of the survey and open house can be found here. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery says this is a way for the city to find out what people want to see in the future.
“We have had a lot of meetings with stakeholders in the community and different organizations, and then MSA has also been working on contacting some of the developers we’ve had here in town just to get their feedback on what development is like in Knoxville and what they would like to see in the future.”
