A talented core is back for the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad this season. The Panthers are coming off a 14-8 season last year and finished 2nd in the South Central Conference. The top three scorers from last year are back with brothers Landen and Lincoln Norris along with Kaiden Smith. That core is looking to help the Panthers this season along with first year head Coach Joel Keady, who takes over after serving the last six seasons as an assistant for the Panthers. Keady tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the first few days of practice is trying to see who fits into the proper role.
Keady: “Guys are settling into their new roles and doing well. We have four from last year, who had a lot of points production, and we’ll have some new faces getting into those other roles.”
Landen Norris averaged over 20 points per game to lead the Panthers attack last season. Keady adds they lost a few outside shooters but he hopes with moving parts around they will find the right balance. Knoxville opens the season December 6th against Cardinal.
