The Knoxville Area Ministerial Association (KAMA) is holding “The Gathering” at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center on Sunday.
KAMA is an organization made up of ministers from nine different churches in Knoxville that look to serve the community. “The Gathering” on Sunday will be a service aimed at bringing the community together to be encouraged and inspired, and to give thanks. The event will be at 6:00 pm and everyone in the community is welcomed to attend. Ministers from the different churches that are a part of KAMA will pray over certain areas of the Knoxville community and the Knoxville High School Chamber Choir will perform. Living Word Fellowship Senior Pastor Doug Brady says “The Gathering” is designed to bring the community together.
“I think in small communities whenever we have the opportunity to gather, it’s for the good. I think that sometimes people have preconceived ideas about what maybe what the church is, what it should be doing, why is it not doing this, but all of us understand that we have a lot to be thankful for. I think if we can gather around the good which is Thanksgiving, and all the things that are going on well in our community, and we can offer up thanks to the Lord, and we can gather for that purpose, I think we should.”
Attendees are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to help out local food pantries.
