The Jasper County Historical Museum in Newton is full of over 200 decorated Christmas trees and other Christmas Decorations. They make up the Museum’s 4th annual Tree-mendous Christmas Experience fundraiser. It opens next weekend, November 30th and December 1st. Dave Rorabaugh Chairs the special Christmas event. He says a core of 50 to 80 volunteers make it happen.
“It’s a “Wow.”. Initially you tell people it’s a “Wow”, but they don’t know what a “Wow” is. As we get more people, we have people say this is really something great. I think anyone who misses this is missing a tremendous Christmas experience.”
There is no admission charge, but free will donations will be accepted. The hours for each Saturday and Sunday between November 30 and December 29 are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Tree-mendous Christmas Experience will also be open Christmas Day from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.. The Jasper County Historical Museum is at 1700 South 15th Avenue West in Newton.
