While there’s still ten days until their competitive season begins, the Pella boys basketball team will suit up for a scrimmage with a cause this evening.

Head Coach Derek Schulte says for several years, the Dutch have participated in the Achieve Scrimmage through the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

Southeast Polk is set to travel to Pella High School to simulate the upcoming season. Fans are encouraged to bring Hamburger Helper, pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruit, or other shelf-stable food to benefit the Pella Community Food Shelf. Admission costs $5 without a donation or $3 with two of the acceptable items donated.

Pella’s boys basketball team opens the season on Friday, December 6th at Norwalk.
