The Knoxville Police Department is encouraging the community to stay safe this holiday season while doing online shopping.

Cyber Monday is just a few days away which is the busiest online shopping day of the year. With online shopping can come a variety of different scams. The police department says to use trusted websites only from well known retailers, use strong and unique passwords for your accounts, stay aware of phishing scams which include pop ups, messages and suspicious emails, regularly check your bank account, and enable two-factor authentication. It is also important to remember to avoid deals that look too good to be true.
