The Knoxville Boys Wrestling Squad, while losing a couple of outstanding wrestlers to graduation last year, still has a lot of solid and capable guys looking to put their stamp on the season. It is a young team for the most part and a bit inexperienced at some weights, but Coach Skylar Spaur is not lowering expectations. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports individual wins are going to be the focus most of this season.
Spaur: “Always want to win tournaments and get as high on the podium as you can. I think trying to fight for team trophies and tournaments may be something we look at next year and the year after.”
Knoxville starts this season with a dual at Nevada on Thursday and then hits its first Saturday meet of the season this weekend with a trip to Nodaway Valley.
