The Indianola girls basketball team looks to even their record, while the boys start their season tonight as they host the Warriors of Waukee in non-conference action. The Indians girls shot just 28% from the field in their season opening loss to Urbandale last week, and take on the #10 Warriors squad that fell to #9 Valley in their season opener shooting just 29% from the field.

Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports Indianola will have to be active on the defensive rebounds this season in order to succeed, and that means not just boxing out but being aggressive to the ball and finding an outlet to move quickly up the court.

The Indians boys start their season bringing back their top five scorers from last year, and will face a new-look Waukee team that lost four of their top five scorers from last season.

Both games can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA and the Indianola Activities YouTube stream, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 5:45, with tipoff at 6pm.
