Central College men’s basketball center Josh Van Gorp was selected as the American Rivers Conference Male Athlete of the week.

On top of that honor, Van Gorp was also selected as the conference’s Men’s Basketball player of the week and to the Snyder Classic all-tournament team this past weekend. Josh averaged 26 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2 assists per game helping the Dutch go 3-0 on the week, including a conference road win at Simpson College on Tuesday. Van Gorp posted a double double in all three contests, pushing him to seven total double doubles in seven games. In the Snyder Classic, hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan, Van Gorp combined to score 60 points and grab 28 rebounds in Central’s wins over Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) and Northwestern-St. Paul (Minn.). Kaleb Brand was also selected to the Snyder Classic all-tournament team, after combining to record 15 points, nine rebounds, and 18 assists in both Dutch victories.

The Dutch have a home conference game against Buena Vista on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
