The Newton boys and girls basketball and wrestling teams are back in action tonight. The Cardinal basketball teams host a doubleheader against Marshalltown. Both games can be heard live on the KRLS3 stream. Pregame coverage will begin at 5:45 p.m., followed by tip-off of the girls game at 6 p.m. The Cardinal girls improved to 2-0 by beating the Grinnell Tigers in Grinnell 34-29 Tuesday night. The Marshalltown girls are also 2-0. The Bobcats beat Des Moines Lincoln 40-26 in Marshalltown Tuesday evening. The Newton boys are 1-0 after Tuesday night’s 49-31 win at Grinnell. Marshalltown’s boys basketball team is 0-1 after losing at home to Des Moines Lincoln Tuesday evening 59-51.

Newton’s boys and girls wrestling teams travel to Indianola for a Little Hawkeye Conference dual meet. The Indians’ boys team is the defending Little Hawkeye Conference Champions, and haven’t lost a conference dual in several years. The Newton and Indian girls will start wrestling at 5:30pm, with the boys to follow.
