Jasper County Elderly Nutrition will again be providing home-delivered Christmas Day meals, but the sign up deadline is approaching. Program Director Kelli Van Manen says the sign up form was sent out this week. The deadline is Monday, December 16th. 

Jasper County Elderly Nutrition pays MercyOne Newton Medical Center to provide the Christmas Day meal. The cost is $8.00.

“We have had a longstanding agreement with MercyOne. They get paid to provide the meals. We work with volunteers to deliver them to those sixty and older who are homebound.”

Kelli Van Manen says Jasper County Elderly Nutrition, which is in the Jasper County Community Center, will be closed Tuesday, December 24th, Wednesday December 25th, and Wednesday, January 1st. Extra food will be sent out on Monday, December 23rd and Tuesday, December 31st.
