Three Invitationals take place in Newton today involving Cardinal bowlers, swimmers, and wrestlers. 

The Newton boys and girls bowling teams will host Pella, Knoxville, Oskaloosa, Gilbert, Mason City, and Waukee at Cardinal Lanes. 

The Cardinal boys and girls wrestling teams will be at Newton High School. Twelve schools are expected to bring girl wrestlers to the school’s lower gym, while boys from seven teams will wrestle in the upper gym. 

The Newton YMCA will host today’s invitational hosted by the NCMP boys swim team. Grinnell, Indianola, and Vinton-Shellsburg are the other schools participating. 

The bowling and girls wrestling begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, while boys wrestling and swimming begin at 10 a.m.
