It was another strong week for the tradition of Tulip City-based competitive dance teams at the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association championship in Des Moines.

Pella Forte won the school’s sixth consecutive state championship in the Military category. Soloist Sietje Beukelman placed 3rd in Class II solo color guard as well. Additionally, jazz placed 2nd in Class VI and pom was 4th in Class XI.

Central College continued a run of dominance of the collegiate Division II and III ranks, sweeping Pom, Hip Hop, and Jazz with 1st place finishes. Central has swept all three categories now for four consecutive seasons, and have collected several first place trophies at the state dance event over the past decade.

Pella Christian Shine earned 7th place finishes in Class VII Pom and Class II Novelty.
