Volunteers are needed to clear a walking trail at the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge southwest of Prairie City on Saturday. From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will be removing branches and vegetation along a trail to make it safer and more accessible for visitors. Hand tools will be used to clear woody plants. Volunteers are required to sign a volunteer agreement and a volunteer under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian fill out and sign the form. Volunteers must also wear pants and a long sleeved shirt, closed shoes suitable for field work, and bring a refillable water bottle. Contact Nancy Corona for additional information.
