The Pella Community School District is hosting a robotics tournament this Saturday at Pella High School. Twenty three high school teams from central Iowa will compete in this FIRST Tech Challenge Alliance style robotics competition. Among the teams represented are Norwalk, Oskaloosa, West Des Moines, Johnston, Urbandale, Des Moines, Waukee, Indianola, Newton, and Prairie City Monroe. Admission is free and the robotic matches will begin at 11:00 am and continue until 3:00 pm. This is an opportunity for community members to experience high school STEM competitions through robotics and automation. With safety glasses, people can actually walk through the Pit area and watch the teams work on their robots in-between the matches.
