It was quite the lunchtime surprise on Thursday for a Pella business owner who has helped Iowa’s best marching band get to their competitions with all of their instruments.

Just before the noon hour, a group of the Pella Marching Dutch played the sounds of the holiday season for Tim Pol, who owns several Pella businesses, including Mowbility and Geetings, Inc.

Director of the Marching Dutch Dameon Place says Tim ensures the instruments for the band make it to their destination with a trailer he helped the band acquire and thousands of miles of windshield time with a semi truck, which included the 2023 Rose Parade trip. Pol is grateful for the opportunity to support the Marching Dutch.

Place presented Pol with a trophy, inscribed with “1st Place in Getting Our Stuff Where it Needs to Be.”
