The City of Newton is advising Christmas light enthusiasts that the weather could impact the Maytag Park Holiday Lights display this weekend.

The City has put out an advisory that while staff will work hard to keep the Christmas displays on, rain, freezing rain, snow, and ice can interfere with the hundreds of electrical connection points throughout the display. The advisory adds safety is the priority, and wet conditions may make it difficult to keep everything lit.

Over 200 lighted displays are set up in Newton’s Maytag Park, sponsored by Clemon-Maki Insurance and organized by the City of Newton.
