The PCM boys basketball team defeated North Mahaska at home Monday night as the girls team came up short in a non-conference varsity doubleheader. 

The Mustang boys picked up the 51-48 win in a game that remained close nearly the entire contest. PCM was led in scoring by Cutler Vandelune who had 13 points while Gavin Van Gorp and Alex Wendt both had 10. Coach Tony Ford said it was a tough battle and he is proud of his team for fighting all four quarters. The Mustang boys improve to 3-2 overall 

The #9 Mustang girls fell to the #2 ranked Warhawks 52-32 in their first loss of the season. PCM went into halftime in a 14 point hole and struggled offensively to dig themselves out in the second half. PCM was led in scoring by freshman Libby Winters who had 17 points and the Mustangs now fall to 6-1 on the season. 

The PCM girls and boys basketball teams will next compete tonight at Grand View Christian.
