Newton City employees are being commended for safely working through several weather related events this year. Those events include, but are not limited to, a January blizzard, flooding in May, and an ice storm earlier this month.
At-Large Newton City Councilman Joel Mills has publicly acknowledged city workers for dealing with these weather related events without accidents or injuries.
“From the blizzard to the floods to how many thunderstorms and an ice storm, and I don’t know of a single weather related injury or vehicular accident on behalf of the city employees.”
Mills also thanked city workers for planning ahead and having people ready to handle these weather related incidents.
