The City of Indianola is continuing to work on the Highway 92 Traffic Lights Project, a months-long project that is replacing the traffic lights on the intersection of Hwy 92 and Buxton. City of Indianola Public Works Director Akhilesh Pal tells KNIA News the project will continue into 2025.

“All the underground work has been finished and completed, but what is remaining is the overhead work. The traffic cabinets, the signal poles, all of that. There is a huge lead time since it has been ordered. Because of that lead time, we expect it anytime in January or February, or maybe March, when the equipment is delivered. Once it is delivered, the contractor will try to finish it in March or April of next year (2025). The underground work is completed, but the overheads will be completed this next year.”

Pal also said the city Public Works Department has worked hard all of 2024 to complete multiple major projects, including the downtown square, Hillcrest, and South K street.
