Nine games into the 2024-2025 season, the Pella Christian girls basketball team has been working through adversity in the first part of the year.
The Eagles started the season with five ranked opponents in their first nine contests, finishing the first semester with a 4-5 record overall. In addition to a difficult schedule to open the campaign, Pella Christian battled multiple injuries and illnesses. Eagles head coach Brendan Foughty says that while the adversity has been difficult and frustrating at times, he’s proud of how the team has handled it.
“Our girls have chosen to continue to fight and to continue to attack it and one of these days this thing is going to start clicking. And when it does, we are going to be a really fun team to watch, we’re going to be a really hard team to beat, and when it comes down to the end of the year we are going to play some really good basketball.”
The Pella Christian girls return to the court after the new year, traveling to Newton for a 6 pm game on January 7th.
