Those planning to celebrate on New Year’s Eve are reminded to do so responsibly. Captain Paul Haase with the Pella Police Department says anyone drinking alcohol should plan to stay where they are after a celebration ends or designate a driver, as operating while intoxicated can cause significant harm to oneself and others on the roadway. Haase says extra law enforcement is on the roadways as part of the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau’s enforcement wave through January 1st.
