
Four Norwalk student-athletes have combined for all eight of the Des Moines Lincoln boys swim team’s fastest individual times so far this season. The Rails’ roster consists entirely of swimmers from Norwalk (11) and Carlisle (2).
According to results on gobound.com, Norwalk junior Brayden Plourde has recorded the team’s top times in the 50-yard freestyle (24.45), the 100 freestyle (52.95) and the 100 breaststroke (1:11.47). Freshman Dax Hughes leads the team in the 200 freestyle (2:14.04) and the 500 freestyle (5:58.61), while junior Keegan Kraft has the top times in the 100 backstroke (1:01.7) and 200 IM (2:21.03). Freshman Dayton Wright is the Rails’ fastest swimmer in the 100 butterfly in 1:10.51.
When it comes to Lincoln’s relay times, Plourde and Kingston Smith have both been part of the fastest 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 200 medley relays.
The Rails are currently 2-2 in duals with wins over Des Moines East and Hoover, and losses to Des Moines Roosevelt and Ames. The team’s next meet is January 9 at Marshalltown.
