The Newton boys and girls bowling teams return to competition this afternoon at Keokuk County Bowling Center for a dual against Sigourney Keota.

Both Cardinal teams are 3-1 overall on the season, earning wins over Gilbert, Pella, and Knoxville, but falling to Norwalk in their last competition on December 21st. The boys team was missing three bowlers in the loss to the Warriors, with Ethan Valtman leading the way with a high series of 375 and a high game of 192. In the girls’ defeat against Norwalk, Gabbie Humphrey had both the high series and high game with scores of 335 and 191. Sigourney Keota’s boys team is 2-2 in duals with wins over Norwalk and Pella Christian and losses to ADM and Oskaloosa. The Savages’ girls team is 4-0 with wins over those schools.

The bowling matches between Newton and Sigourney-Keota today are scheduled to begin in Sigourney at 1 p.m.
