Although it’s only January, Newton City Staff has already started working on summer activities. Newton Mayor Evelyn George says some decisions have already been made in regards to the city’s July 4th Celebration and that city staff have also been working on Newton Fest in June.

“Newton Fest activities have been scheduled for Father’s Day weekend, which will also be the Fierce Faith Concert weekend. That usually includes the Newton Alumni celebration as well. So we will have lots to do in Newton the second week of June.”

This year’s city sponsored Newton Fest, which will feature family related activities, music, and food, will be held Friday, June 13th and Saturday June, 14th. The 2025 Fierce Faith Music Festival will take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 14th at Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton, while the Newton Iowa Alumni Association will hold their annual All Class Reunion Weekend that weekend.
