The Melcher-Dallas Girls basketball Squad stepped out of conference on Saturday and defeated Colo-NESCO 58-35. Four players scored in double figures led by Addi Wadle’s 20 points. Kesley Reed had another double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports with Gabby Overgaard on the injured list for the foreseeable future, Reed is the next girl up and she’s taking full advantage.
Goff : “She’s taking advantage of that. Even last night she was getting rebounds and knowing that when she does that she can just take it back for another basket.”
Goff adds Reed is left handed which provides a unique challenge to other teams. Ashlyn Metz and Danni Enfield both scored ten points to help the Saints cause. The boys struggled in their loss to the Royals 78-28. Coach Matt Bennett told KNIA Sports Colo-NESCO shot well and his team was beat on the boards again. Reece Chiabotta scored 13 points for high point honors for Melcher-Dallas. Melcher-Dallas will host Lamoni on Tuesday
