The Pella School Board is holding a public hearing on Monday to hear about recommendations made for budget reductions in the upcoming fiscal year. Here are the guidelines for public participation.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling has recommended nearly $900,000 in cuts for the upcoming fiscal year, following approximately $800,000 in reductions made for the current academic calendar.
Ebeling says involuntary job loss will impact a handful of the nearly 18 full-time and part-time positions that could be reduced. And while he expects the board will stick close to his recommendations, Ebeling cautions that it’s ultimately up to the school board on what to cut and how much.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Pella High School Library. The meeting will be live-streamed on Pella Dutch Live.
