The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in their first regular session of the year on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the board approved an agreement for lobbying services at the Iowa State Capitol with Skinner & Paschke, PLLC, received the Marion County Treasurer’s semi-annual report, and approved an updated Pella drivers license lease agreement, but did not take action on a public health mental health service advocate position.

The board then held a discussion regarding the county’s inclement weather policy but no action was taken on the matter. A public hearing was then held and a resolution was approved to vacate all or part of a county road right of way for road 588. The board also approved a 28E agreement and letter of support for a Highway T15 grant project, with a stipulation that a part of it needed to be reviewed by County Engineer Tyler Christian. The meeting concluded with Christian providing a road department update, the board discussing future updates to the employee handbook, and approval of an upcoming space study to be done for county building space.
