After a great week on the national stage, Central College’s Carter Martinson was named the American Rivers Conference Men’s Wrestler of the Week.

Competing at 157 pounds, Martinson (13-1) was 4-0 in Central’s first-ever appearance at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls last Friday and Saturday. He won a pair of decisions on Friday as Central fell to the University of Olivet (Mich.) 21-18 before defeating Centenary University (N.J.) 29-17. Returning to the mats on Saturday, Martinson scored two major decision wins as the Dutch (6-3) topped the University of Dubuque 24-13 and were defeated by Cornell College 19-18.

The Central men’s wrestling squad returns to action on Thursday, hosting #13 Loras College at 6:30 pm in P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.
