Marion County Bank hosted its inaugural Bucks for Baskets event in Melcher-Dallas on Tuesday, January 14th. 

Prior to the event, students participated in a schoolwide competition to determine who would take the court at halftime, where four finalists had the chance to earn money for their school. Held in the school’s new gym, the students earned a total of $1,350 by sinking layups, free throws, and long-range shots.  Since 2004, Marion County Bank’s halftime events have earned over $159,000 for area schools.
